Mulberry Autumn/Winter Collection 2010 Launch

A VERY PICTURE HEAVY POST! 😛

So I had the honour to bake for the event 🙂 For Alexa Chung herself!

Launch of the Mulberry Autumn/Winter Collection 2010!

And at the same time, i got to attend the event as well 🙂

Let me start off with how i did the cakes, as usual 🙂 Not every single step of course, was on a race against time! I’m a one man show you know hahaha.

Made mini Alexas for cupcakes in several colours.

And worked on the larger cakes thereafter! Tinted fondant, rolled them out and cut them into dimensions.

Painted in the patterns i wanted! This is how i painted the Plum Loopy Leopard Quilted Denim. Shades of pink, purple and black. A really funky design!

Did the quilting.

And weaving of the fondant.

Stacked and carved and frosted. Poked in a few bamboo skewers to keep the cake in place! I cut the excess off of course.

Repeat with the other designs you want 🙂 This is for the Camel Mixed Haircalf.

And one of my favourite, the buckle! Brushed on some edible gold glitter to finish it off.

Put everything together.. And there you have 3 Mulberry Alexas in prints 🙂

You would notice all 3 are leopard prints! It’s because they’re in season now 🙂

And a couple of cupcakes.

And no, not everything went on smooth for me. On the way there, one of my cakes toppled. YES IT TOPPLED AND DIED. I was DEVASTATED. I know. And the worst part was that it was my favourite of the 3 bags, which i put most effort in! And that was the Camel Mixed Haircalf 😦

My mood was ruined for the first half of the event. I really wanted to present that cake to Alexa! But it still ended off on a good note at the end of the night. Haha, let’s continue.

So the event was held at Tanjong Beach Club, Sentosa. The event commenced at 8pm!

Really lovely place. With pretty lights, awesome music and good flow of drinks. Alexa was spinning for some time that night!

And the 2 bags that survived. Hahaha.

It was a really nice themed party. The theme was Naughty Royalty. Lots of purple and animal prints. Totally regretted not finding out the theme and shopping for clothes. Haha. There were prints everywhere! And it was really interesting to see people dressing up for the event. Bet many of them are fashion bloggers, they dress up so well!

There were pretty models too 🙂 They modeled by the pool side.

There were even 2 dogs there which were all dressed up! Really cute!

Everyone was chilling, dancing and just having fun.

Got to meet the people of Club21 London and Singapore. Really awesome people 🙂

I was trying very hard to hide my excitement. Needed to keep my cool hahahaha.

This is Lifen! A new friend i made from Club21 who gave me this once in a lifetime opportunity!

Hehe, this was at the VIP area!

She stopped what she was doing.

And reached over to snap a photo with her phone!

She shook my hands! My sister told me to not wash my hands after that HAHA.

SHE ATE THE CAKE! HAHA. Okay i’m just really happy she ate the cake.

Haha, that was my short couple of minutes with the really hot Alexa Chung. I’m a happy girl.

Had to go off shortly after that.

Oh and the Club21 team went to look at my cake that toppled hahahaha. Really really wasted but sigh, accidents happen!

I want to thank Club21 London and Club21 Singapore for giving me this opportunity! Never thought i’d get the chance to bake for an event like this, not anytime soon that is!
