Dinner cooked by my stepmom!

Have always loved their furniture and table setting.

And the cute chopstick holders! Hahaha.

Braised vege, mushrooms and dried beancurd.

Pork Ribs!

And the best of all, Grilled Cod Fish πŸ˜€

I brought along dessert which i made earlier in the day.

Matcha Swiss Roll with Red bean paste/cream.

Matcha Swiss Roll
Recipe from Okashi

Matcha Sponge:
1 egg
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp vanilla extract
35g unsalted butter
60g cake flour
5g matcha powder (I doubled the amount for mine)
60ml milk
85g caster sugar

You can read steps and instructions fromΒ Evan’s Kitchen Ramblings. First saw it there! Though hers look way nicer. Didn’t manage to peel off my baking paper properly hahaha. Didn’t use the same filling though.

Wondering how the pattern came about?

I piped it like this! Alternating the cream and paste.

I made my red bean cream by just whipping some cream and folding in red bean paste.
